Registered Livestock Brand Lookup

Option 1. Brand Number Search
Type in the Brand number (NOT including the position on animal) from your brand card or certificate. (You should type in the hyphens).
Then click the "Find Brand No." button.

Option 2. Owner Name Search
Type in the Last name and first name of one of the owners that have registered the Brand.
Then click the Find Owner button.

You may leave the First name blank and you may put in just the beginning letters of a name but you enter at least 2 letters in the Last name box.
Please keep in mind that only the first 100 matches will be shown. So if you are not specific enough then the name you are looking for may be beyond the first 100 shown. If this happens please add a letter or two to either the Last name or First Name and try again. A message will be displayed below the last name indicating whether all matching names are shown or just the first 100.

The search is NOT case sensitive. So whether you search for "JONES", "Jones", or "JoNeS" you will get the same result.

If you were to search for a Last name of "Clark" and a First name of "D", you would be shown all registered owners having a last name beginning with "CLARK" and a First name beginning with "D". The list would include all owners not just owner number 1.

Option 3. Owner Zip code Search
Type in the five digit zip code of one of the owners that have registered the Brand.
Then click the Find Zip button.

You may enter all 5 digits of the zip code or just the first 3 digits of a zip code but you must enter at least 3 digits in the zip code box.
Please keep in mind that only the first 100 matches will be shown. So if you are not specific enough then the zip code you are looking for may be beyond the first 100 shown. If this happens please enter all 5 digits and try again. A message will be displayed below the last zip code indicating whether all matching zips are shown or just the first 100.

Results found show all owners not just owner number 1.

A search for 84651 would look something like this:

Option 4. Letters in the Brand Image Search
Type in one, two, or three letters that are in the brand image and then click the Find Brand Image button.

You must type in at least 1 letter.
If you search for images containg the letter "A" then you will be shown all images who have had been indexed as containing the letter "A".

This search method is not as accurate as the other methods due to the way people interpret what they see in a brand image. You should also be aware of a few other limitations.

• Since this is a new system not all images have been indexed by letter.
• Our Brand Recorder indexes the characters in an image as outlined on our web site and in our published Brand Books.
  For instance, "an upside down V" is indexed as an "open A" and can be found under the letter A.

You can search for letters (ABC), numeric digits (123) or a few other characters in an image.
Other characters you can search for are:

• "$" to find a dollar sign.
  
• "-" to find a Bar.
  
• "/" to find a Slash.
  
• "O" (letter oh) to find a Circle, Zero, or letter O.
  
• "(" to find a Quarter Circle.
  
• "+" to find a Cross.
